Thanks Forsyth County For Giving Us A Week Off

Wonderful Forsyth County decided to start a little something called Fall Break last school year and continued it on this year as well! There are only a few schools that I know of, other than the schools in Forsyth County, that have a fall break. So blessed to have one week of school off – here's a recap of what I did:

Saturday (9/24/2016)

Me and three of my friends went over to our friend Lucy's house to spend the night! We painted on our own little canvases, jammed out to good music and watched a couple movies to end the night. Good time catching up with my sweet friends!!!

Sunday (9/25/2016)

I went to Harvest Georgia with four others and got to see Chris Tomlin perform his amazing songs. I also ran into two of my other friends, Emma and Sidney from school!!

Monday (9/26/2016)

My friend Skylar and I went over to our other friend Jenny's house to spend the night. We took a night drive to Publix and Target, hoping to get some Pillsbury cookies... only to find that the ones we wanted were already sold out, sadly. Still a fun adventure with the #stressbuds!

Tuesday (9/27/2016)

Skylar, Jenny and I went over to Another Broken Egg Cafe to grab brunch with our friend Sidney! The food was amazing!!! I'd definitely recommend it. Good talk with friends!

Wednesday (9/28/2016)

Finally watched "Suicide Squad" with my friends and shopped for a bit... we embarrassed ourselves quite a bit this night, but still a really fun night and good catching up time with my friends.

Thursday (9/29/2016)

NATIONAL COFFEE DAY! Caught up with my two senior friends at Drem, a local waffle shop (definitely recommend, by the way, their food is yummy!!) After leaving Drem, I went to the mall with my mom and sister and grabbed free donuts and coffee on our way home from Krispy Kreme.

Friday (9/30/2016)

Ate out for lunch at Cheesecake Factory with my friend and her family – yum! We watched Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children together afterwards.

Saturday and Sunday are still yet to come as I am writing this. Hopefully, they go well, as this week has already been so far! So thankful for this one short but fun-filled week.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

19 Lessons I'll Never Forget from Growing Up In a Small Town

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
