UGG Boots

With the warmth and comfort of UGG boots, you know it is fall when it is UGG boot season. Just slip into a pair of your favorite UGG boots, and enjoy fall. These warm boots will be relaxing to your feet while keeping them warm all season long. Enjoy the UGG boot season, before their time is up, and they have to go back into your closet!

Pumpkin Spice Latte

Either hot or cold this Starbucks drink is one of the most popular holiday drinks. No one can resist saying “No” to this delicious, orange, pumpkin-y fall drink. They are fun to take pictures of, with, and especially the most common picture taken… a selfie with your Pumpkin Spice Latte! Get them while you can and while they are still in season.

Pumpkin Picking & Carving

At a young age, children love going pumpkin picking; however, even as we get older we still love going pumpkin picking. Additionally, with the hayrides that are usually at the pumpkin patches, this makes going pumpkin picking even more fun as well. Children love picking out their own pumpkin, and finding that “special one”. After children find that one pumpkin, they love bringing it home, where they will have an idea in mind or find a design online or in a magazine maybe that they would like to carve into their pumpkin. Of course, the children will not carve the pumpkin but will instruct their parents on how they want their pumpkin to be carved.

While carving the pumpkin, you can scoop out all the pumpkin seeds and put them aside on a tray. On the tray the seeds will then be washed, seasoned (with butter and salt; however, you can also find pumpkin seed recipes online) then baked. Once baked you will have edible, delicious, homemade pumpkin seeds. You will also have a pumpkin seed recipe that you will be able to share with the later generations down the road, and also you will have a beautifully carved pumpkin which will be perfect for the upcoming Halloween holiday. Pumpkins are gorgeous, fun to pick, decorate and also very multifunctional.

Apple Picking

A good way to start fall is by apple picking. It is fun to do with your friends, family, even your neighbors. When you go apple picking this fall make sure you get some crisp apple cider, for fall is not complete without some fresh local cider. Also if the farm that you decide to go apple picking sells apple cider donuts, you should definitely purchase some. They will be worth your money, and you will say to yourself “I have never tasted a donut like this before.” The reason you will be saying this is because they will be amazing and taste like heaven in every bite! Apple picking is fun, delicious, and memorable :)

Falling into a Pile of Leaves

When children are little and even as they get older, they will never forget the countless times they fall backward into a pile of leaves. Just grab a dozen or two handfuls of leaves (adult handfuls preferably) and then put them into a pile and soon you will see the pile start to grow bigger and bigger. Then you can fall backward and end up in the pile of leaves. It is sort of like a trust fall, but with leaves. Even adults can do this activity and will think that it is enjoyable, and walk away laughing.

Going on Nature Walks

With the weather not too hot, not too cold, the weather is perfect. Nature walks are perfect for schools if they need to get out of the classroom, explore or just take their students out of the classroom for a little air. Going on nature walk adventures are also wonderful for families, especially when family members come to town for the fall holidays. Families can go to a local park or on a long walk around a creek or falls, for example Brandywine Falls, which has some hills and also a waterfall. These nature adventures are terrific for friends as well, if they ever want to be adventurous, and explore the outdoors. They will have the opportunity to take pictures of nature, while also taking selfies at the same time with the beautiful scenery around them. Nature hikes are fun, beautiful, and the best time to do them in the fall time!

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
