When summer comes to an end, there is always a little bit of sadness. No more endless summer nights with friends, all-nighters watching Netflix and basically doing whatever you want when you want. However, if you’re a TV fanatic like me, the end of summer means that there are plenty of new fall TV premieres coming up to be excited for. These are a few that I’m looking forward to the most.
1. "Scream Queens" (Premieres September 22nd on Fox)
I’ve been excited about this show since I first saw a teaser for it. This new series follows a series of murders on a college campus that mysteriously have a connection to Kappa Kappa Tau, an elite sorority with a troubled past. Along with having an awesome cast including Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts and Lea Michele, this show looks like it will be the perfect mix of horror and comedy.
2. "Grandfathered" (premieres September 29th on FOX)
John Stamos returns to television as Jimmy Martino, a bachelor and restaurant owner whose life is turned upside down when he finds out he has a son and a granddaughter on the same day. As a huge John Stamos fan, between this and the upcoming "Full House" spinoff, I cannot contain my excitement. Drake and Josh’s Josh Peck also stars as Jimmy’s son, which is an added bonus.
3. "Chicago Med" (premieres November 17th on NBC)
If you love "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago P.D", you’ll be sure to love the newest Chicago-based series which follows the city’s most notorious hospital and the team of doctors who work there. If you’re still mourning the loss of McDreamy on "Grey’s Anatomy," this new medical drama could be your next obsession. It’s also been said that this show will be intertwined with the other "Chicago" series, so fans of those shows can look forward to plenty of crossovers.
4. "Heroes Reborn" (premieres September 24th on NBC)
This 13-episode mini-series follows the same plot as the original "Heroes," where ordinary people discover that they have special abilities that must be kept hidden. Along with a new set of characters, Heroes from the past will also be returning. If you were disappointed by the lackluster ending of the original "Heroes" series, maybe this series will give you some closure, or at least fill the void of not having a satisfying ending.
5. "The Grinder" (premieres September 29th on FOX)
Rob Lowe returns to TV in this comedy series that follows an actor whose long-running TV show, on which he played a lawyer is cancelled. He returns to his hometown and joins his family’s real-life law firm, believing that his acting experience qualifies him to be an actual lawyer. Early reviews rave that "The Grinder" is one of the funniest new shows of the fall, promising good acting and a lot of laughs. Also, Rob Lowe is pretty much great in everything, so I have no doubt this will be just as good as his previous series. R.I.P "Parks and Rec."
