I know fall can be a busy time for everyone, with new schools, new classes, new responsibilities. But, I think it is important for everyone to enjoy the seasons to their fullest, so if you're stumped about what to occupy your weekends with this month, look no further!
1.Visit an apple orchard

Honeycrisp, Machintosh, Granny Smith, Pink Lady, and classic Red Delicious.... if at least one of these words made your mouth water while reading, an apple orchard should definitely be on your list for this coming month! Not only will you get to pick as many of these delectable fruits as you can carry, but in addition to the barrels of apples you'll take home, most apple orchards have sweet treats ready for you to taste! Cake cider donuts, sticky caramel apples, hot apple cider, and of course-warm apple pies!- are all some of the desserts you can grab on your way out! If this doesn't scream "Saturday well spent" then I don't know what does.
Check out some apple orchards in the Milwaukee area and make sure to bring your appetite!
2.Get lost in a corn maze

Time to grab some strategic friends and attempt to solve one of these life-size puzzles. Not only will you get to spend a few hours with people you love in the outdoors-away from the stresses of life-but you'll probably get in a few good laughs as well. These mazes can range from beginner to absolutely insane, so make sure to pick your poison (and those you choose to invite) carefully! This activity could be done with friends, family, or even a savvy pet, so what are you waiting for? Get out there, get lost, and have fun while doing it!
Corn mazes for all!
3.Soar in a hot air balloon

Some of you may have been going through this post thinking, "Been there. Done that. I need something NEW." Well, this one's for you. Not only is this a thrill seeking adventure for everyone, but in addition to the nerves taking your breath away, the view from above is enough to make anyone gasp in awe. Floating weightlessly with the clouds could bring about that peace of mind you've so desperately needed. Classes, homework, and the stress they induce will all dissipate as you rise higher and gaze down at the beautiful canvas of multi-colored tree tops underneath your feet. We can most certainly say the view from atop is one that will stick with you until next fall.
Ready to fly? Up up away you go!
4.Bake

So now that you've picked bushels and bushels of apples, you may need some more recipes than just pie (no offense apple pie, you're still one of the faves). Well, get those apples washed, aprons on, and flour ready because the possibilities are endless! Whether you want something classic, like apple dumplings with caramel sauce or you're feeling extravagant and want to try your luck with some apple cheesecake crumb bars-the world is your oyster (or should I say apple?) for you to try any and all the dishes imaginable. Make some memories in the kitchen this fall and fill your home with the sweet scents of your delectable treats!
Here are some perfect treats(both savory and sweet) to try with apples this month!
5.Jump in a pile of leaves

Last but certainly not least, I think this is probably the best thing you can do for yourself this fall. With midterms and jobs and responsibilities creeping in to make us more like the spooky skeletons we see around Halloween rather than the happy jack-o-lanterns lighting up porches, this activity is just what the doctor ordered. When was the last time you truly felt like a kid during the first months of school? For me, it was working tirelessly to construct a mountain of gold, burgundy, and flame colored leaves and-once satisfied- running as fast as my ten year old legs could carry myself straight into the pile. It was watching all the colors fall around me like a kaleidoscope that was only my own. It was taking a moment to be in complete bliss, something I think all of us need to get back in the habit of doing.
So, heed my advice, find a rake, grab yourself, and make your own kaleidoscope.
Happy Fall!!!
