Faith Words For Anxiety

Pain and sorrow have no place in an unknown tomorrow.

Faith Words For Anxiety

Sometimes we struggle. Sometimes we are close to giving up. As a person who has had their fair share of anxiety and worries, I want you all to remember that anxiety is not a measure of who you are. Plenty of role models, plenty of saints, have experienced anxiety. Here are words that have gotten me through those moments. And remember, prayer can assuage any ailment, even when consolation may not come.

1."Watch, O Lord, with those who wake or watch or weep tonight, and give your angels and saints charge over those who sleep. Tend your sick ones, O Lord Christ. Rest your weary ones. Bless your dying ones. Soothe your suffering ones. Pity your afflicted ones, shield your joyous ones. And all for love's sake." --St. Augustine of Hippo

Prayer is the easiest way to assuage anxiety.

2. "If certain thoughts bother you, it is devil who causes you to worry, and not God, Who, being the spirit of peace, grants you tranquility." --St. Padre Pio

Remember it is not God who causes worry, but the one who is attempting to derail your path to Him.

3. "Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset. Have patience with all things, But, first of all with yourself." --St. Francis De Sales

Breathe. Just breathe. Whenever anxiety hits, just remember the simple things, the simple beauty that makes it okay for a while.

4. "Some people feel guilty about their anxieties and regard them as a defect of faith. I don't agree at all. They are afflictions, not sins. Like all afflictions they are, if we can so take them, our share in the Passion of Christ." --C.S. Lewis

The great Christian apologist says we shouldn't apologize for having some mental pains, as they are just another thing to endure and allow us to come out stronger for Christ.

5. "It is not the strength of the body that counts, but the strength of the spirit." --J.R.R. Tolkien

Though you do not feel up to anything, and you are disquieted, you are capable of of all things through Him, who strengthens the will.

6. "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." --Psalm 56:3

That is all you need.

7. "She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future." --Proverbs 31:25

Smile, and know that this will pass.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
