With the 2016 Election causing a lot of commotion in the past weeks I have tried to distract myself by watching some fictional television, in hopes to stay positive. However, I subconsciously have been watching shows that revolve politics - and are filled with political scandals, monumental governmental moments, and plenty of presidents. These presidents come in all shapes, sizes, and personalities. These are the best TV presidents-
Josiah 'Jed' Bartlet
Everyone’s favorite president, President Bartlet, has had us all at the edge of our seats and with tears flowing time and time again. From his attempted assassination in Season 1, to his flare ups with multiple sclerosis throughout the seasons I never know how the New Hampshire native will make me feel next. His character makes every man and women hope of one day having an office in the “West Wing” (pun intended).
Frank Underwood
The Netflix Original Series has brought us President Underwood. While people either love or hate him- but we can all agree he portrays the part of Capitol Hill that most real-life politicians do not want us to know about. However, his relatability and connection to the viewers are something to be applauded.
Fitzgerald Grant III
Possibly my personal favorite, President Fitz has a way to swoon into every women's heart with just one look and just one monologue. He might not be the most presidential or accomplished president on the list considering he rigged the election, but he does make me want to sign up to be his first lady regardless of all his SCANDALS!
Selina Meyer
Yes, girl power in both politics and television. From VP to the Presidency, President Meyer’s charm helps her overcome all the awkward moments she faces and like Frank Underwood has a drive to get ahead and make a name. Maybe we will Secretary Elizabeth Mccord make a move in this direction in the near future
Tom Kirkman
The newest president on the list is the very relatable President from Designated Survivor who found himself dropped in the presidency after a devastating terror attack that wiped out the President and the entire Cabinet. It's his struggles, uncertainty, and willing to do good that makes him great.
From real life elections to fictional elections the oval office still looks enticing and is always surrounded by controversy, scandal, and lots of prestige.
