Ever feel like everyone around you is moving on to bigger and better, everyone but you?
In today's generation, when you go on social media you will find at least one post that reminds you that everyone around you is progressing. Whether it's someone posting about a promotion, an engagement, a new house or a new car. It's always something and in a way it's like you're constantly reminded of the goals you haven't reached yet.
So you sit there and do what any normal human being would do: You compare your life with theirs. You start thinking about what you're doing wrong that's stopping you from progressing like them. Plot twist: Answer is: nothing. You're not doing anything wrong. As long as you try, there is nothing you can do differently.
When you find yourself feeling stuck or hopeless, remember that you aren't failing at life just because someone else is succeeding. Each and every one one of us move at different paces. When the time and circumstances are right for you, you will get to where you want to be.
When you constantly compare yourself to others, you will never learn to appreciate what you have. You'll want more and better than what you already have. You start missing out on what’s in front of you and what you have at that very moment. You begin to lose yourself and what really matters.
Don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle because everyone’s journey is different. You can’t measure your progress with someone else’s ruler. I want you to always keep in mind it doesn't make you any less of a person if it takes a long time to get to where you want to be.
What matters is that you tried and achieved, so don’t ever let anyone tell you differently. Time does not matter; moving forward is what does. So as long as you keep going then you got this.
I promise you once you stop comparing yourself to others and realize that life is not a competition, you'll slowly find happiness. Remember that you’re not failing at life just because someone else is succeeding. It's going to work out for you the way it is meant to be, even if it doesn’t seem like it now. Trust me when I say that you will get there, just on your own time.
