Focus on the now

Uncertainty. It can lead to us worrying about what is next. Will I get this job? Will I get into this school? Will I graduate this year?

A lot of things in life can give us this feeling of uncertainty. We don't know what the future looks like. We don't know what comes next. There are so many questions that we don't have the answers to. All of this uncertainty can lead to many things such as fear, worry, or anxiety.

Look at the story of Noah from the Old Testament. Noah had never seen rain before, yet when God told him to build a boat because it was going to flood, Noah did. Yes, in the middle of it, he probably thought "this is crazy". But he kept building the boat. To him, it didn't matter if he had never seen rain before because He believed that God could do miracles. While others may have thought he was insane, he continued to have faith in God. He had so much certainty in the Lord that it didn't matter what else was going on around him.

Because of the unconditional love and grace Jesus gives, I do not have to have my whole life together right now. He's already got it all planned out. I just have to focus on the now.

We can't see what the future holds for us. However, God tells us to trust in Him because He has prepared the way. He just wants us to believe and trust Him even when anxiety, fear, or worry steps into our lives. Say no to fear and have faith in the one who is in control.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
