Facebook’s newest feature is now available and may pose a huge threat for social media rival Snapchat.
Like Snapchat, Facebook will now have an option that’ll allow users to post short videos that disappear after 24 hours. Since Messenger Day, when the feature became available on the Messenger app, Facebook has slowly been making the option accessible for users on it’s main app, around the globe.
In addition to over 1 billion people who use Facebook everyday, the app’s focus on developing easy conversations through stories, will also prove to be hard for Snapchat to beat. There are plenty of automated responses for people to choose from if they have a quick response, and conversations will be held through messenger that won’t automatically delete after viewing them. This is a perk for many users who have complained that although Snapchat’s automatically deleted messages provide extra privacy, it often causes people to forget what they wrote to one another.
When it comes to editing and visual effects, Facebook isn’t far behind either. Through Facebook Stories users can add Snapchat-like effects to their face as well as hundreds of emoji’s, edited text and small pictures.
Although all Facebook users haven’t be updated as of yet, Snapchat may want to create a new competitive advantage.
