Every day we see videos, photos, and maybe even read articles about people who are in need. There's always a time or reason to help someone out, in more ways than one. There are plenty of ways to give people assistance across the board, and here are a few.
1. Volunteering - Volunteering is a great way to give help and show that you care about others besides yourself. Volunteer at the local Boys and Girls club, or even through your school's Leadership and Service office. You'll feel better about yourself, and you will have made someone's day in the process.
2. Donate things you don't use or want anymore - Instead of throwing items in the trash, or just hoarding them forever, donate them to a thrift shop or Goodwill. Someone else will be able to purchase or receive your item, and that's helping someone for sure.
3. Give Advice - Many times you can help someone just by lending your voice. A lot of people just want someone to talk to; you could easily be talking someone off a ledge, and that's more than helpful enough!
4. Give Gifts - Let's be honest, we all love receiving gifts, but it can feel so much more rewarding to give them. Gifts for friends, family and anyone who deserves them can really change someone's day as well as make you feel a little better! Plus, they may get you one in return!
5. Tell people you care - Sometimes, you can change a day just by showing affirmation to someone you care about. Write a letter, send a heartfelt text, or even give a shoutout on Instagram. It can really make someone's day to know their friend truly cares about them.
These aren't the only ways that you can help people out! There are plenty of surefire ways to make someone's day and even month just by doing a few things for them, which can change their mood and make yours even better as well!
