Whether you’re going on a 10 hour road trip or a 10 minute drive to class, there is a common problem you need to address: the music. The invention of the aux chord has changed our generation's car jams and left us in complete control of what we listen to. Our generation no longer has to rely on the radio (which generally leads to disappointment) or CDs (which limit your options). We have the power to listen to a ridiculous variety of music, all in the palm of our hand. When driving, you want to be sure to have a fire playlist that you and all of your friends can jam to. There is an extensive thought process that goes into the making of a bomb playlist that everyone is happy with. So, here are some tips for things you need to throw into that playlist for the best car jams yet.
#throwbackthursday
Road trips are all about the memories, so it’s essential to bring back some old ones while making new ones. My personal throwback favorites come from the late 90s and early 2000s. Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne The Backstreet Boys, and NSYNC are a few examples. These are nice because they are usually songs most people know and love. They also can help you relive some awesome memories and overall just lead to a better mood.
The Classic Rap Jam
Almost every friend group has that one rap song that they can all rap every word to. This song is key to making sure that everyone is engaged in the jam session. This is a good one to play when the vibe is starting to fall a little bit or when you have that one friend that you know doesn’t know any of the music you’re listening to. A classic rap jam that everybody knows can help start the party back up again.
A Funky Electronic Song
This song is more for the dancing than the singing, but find a song that can lead you to bust out some slightly constrained car dance moves. However, electronic music can lead to a weird time if played in excess.
A Song That You Know Will Lead to Tears.
I don’t know why this is necessary but it is. Get a few tears out and rally.
The Hot Pop Song
This song works great following the sad song because it can lift your spirits. At the moment, if you play “Closer” by The Chainsmokers, I can guarantee I will sing so obnoxiously you’ll be sprinting in the other direction. But really, this song is necessary to bring the mood back up and get ready for a good time. It’s also really fun to just see how loud and ridiculous people get when this hot song comes on. This is a great one to play right before you arrive at your destination so you can start your day or night out on a high note.
Girl Power Music
I feel that this is the most important part of the playlist. Every girl wants to feel like a boss. Make a serious effort to search for some songs that will make you feel like no one can mess with you and will make you feel as hot as Beyonce. Sprinkle these songs throughout the playlist so you and your friends never forget how bomb you all are.
With these in mind, go get on Spotify right now and get ready to make the most fire playlist of the century!
