In 2016 dating has changed dramatically than when our parents' were our age. Dating is no longer meeting someone in person and phone calls on landlines. Dating now is downloading a dating app. Now, with an app you can meet thousands of people your age from your area, across the country, or even from another country. One of the most popular dating apps is called "Tinder." Tinder is an app where you can swipe left if you do not like a person's picture and if you do find them attractive, you swipe right. If they also swipe your picture to the right, then it is a match!

Online dating is becoming more and more popular, especially with younger people. Although there are great people on apps like Tinder, you may encounter a creep or two! So I decided to conduct a "Tinder Social Experiment." How would you react if you were on Tinder and someone who you just started talking to you told you the three words... "I love you?"

For this experiment, I made a Tinder and told 9 random guys "I love you" within a few minutes of talking. 4 participants did not respond. So I will present the outcome of 5 of the participants and provide the conversations.

Participant 1:

Me: Hi! How are you?

Participant 1: Hey gorgeous. I'm better now that I'm talking to you ;)

Me: Oh really? I think I love you.

Participant 1: Wait, what? Lol

Me: I love you. I never believed in love at first sight but now I see it is real. (Heart emojis)

Participant 1: Lol you're sweet. But I don't believe in love at first sight. sorry :(

Me: I think we would be perfect for each other.

( Conversation ended. I never heard from him again)

Participant 2:

Me: Hey do you believe in love at first sight?

Participant 2: Mmm No? haha do you?

Me: I do! As soon as I saw your picture I knew you were the one. I love you (Heart emojis)

Participant 2: Haha girl, you're crazy. I don't even know you?

Me: Well isn't that what online dating is? Meeting new people? Come on give me a chance. I know we are meant to be.

(Conversation ended and he unmatched me)

Participant 3:

Me: Hey there!

Participant 3: Hey there beautiful. How are you?

Me: Fine, can I tell you something?

Participant 3: Lol Sure what's up?

Me: I love you

Participant 3: You what?! lol

Me: I love you.

(Participant 3 stopped replying)

Participate 4:

Participant 4: Good morning!

Me: Good morning, I love you!

Participant 4: Lol sending lots of love your way gorgeous.

(Participant 4 was a very nice guy)

Participant 5

Me: Wow, I never believed in love at first sight until I came across you on Tinder.

Participant 5: Lol thank you. You know I never believed in angels until I came across you ;)

Me: I love you

Participant 5: Love?

Me: Yes, I truly do love you. Love at first sight (heart emojis)

(Never heard from him again).

I had a lot of fun trying Tinder out to creep guys out with the 3 words. As this experiment shows, if you want online dating to be successful, do not be a creep. Do NOT say the 3 words. Be careful out there swiping!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
