I'll admit it -- if I were to have my own Wikipedia page online, "party animal" would not be a description. In one way or another, it would probably explain that I am, in fact, 20 years old but would make a great old lady.
Thus begins my list of experiences or times in my life that are so utterly blissful and euphoric to me, yet connect me to an entirely different generation.
1. Getting emotionally invested in a television show and proceeding to watch all of it in record time.
2. There is no better feeling than buying a new kitchen appliance. I know I can make pancakes on a pan, but there is something about cooking a food on a product specifically designed for that food only that gets my blood pumping in a good way.
3. Cat naps are life. Cat naps with my cat are life even more. Talk about a euphoric 30 minutes.
4. Whenever I go to Marshall's I love to circle the homeware section. OK, I circle it a few times.
5. I invest a lot of money in calming products. Tea, candles, bubble bath, etc. No regrets either, my friends. Just complete blissfulness.
6. I found myself being the youngest one in my apartment complex and couldn't have been happier. Surround me with old people who go to bed at 8:00 p.m. and are quiet. They are my people.
7. Changing into a onesie, getting under a blanket, with a cup of tea, reading a good book is magical -- there is no other way for me to describe that.
8. Hard candy is the best. So much flavor for so long. Why are all these young people hating on hard candy?
9. Nothing makes me happier than cleaning on a Sunday. Vacuuming, dusting, reorganizing a cabinet or linen closest -- you cannot top that feeling. Unless you are climbing into a bed of clean sheets. That's equally as nice.
10. When my friends tell me they don't want to stay until last call at the bar it is actual music to my ears. After midnight, I find myself saying, "How is it even legal for humans to be out socializing this late?"
11. The best thing ever is when I do decide to go drink and food is involved. To me, food might be more important than alcohol during a night out.
12. Scrolling through Pinterest looking at baking recipes, DIY projects and organization tips calms me.
13. Sitting in front of the fireplace in leggings, thick socks, a sweatshirt and a blanket is the comfiest thing ever. From someone who is always cold, I feel like a warm little chocolate chip cookie in the oven and it is a beautiful thing. (P.S. I just used a baking simile, doesn't get much more old lady-like than that, folks.)
