Ever since the semester of my freshman year started, I have been exhausted. Sleep deprivation mixed with anxiety can make you feel like the days will never end but here's how to combat the unending fatigue that comes with college.
1. Get some sleep!
A college student should be sleeping AT LEAST 7-9 hours a night! I've come across so many people who say they go to sleep at 2 A.M every night and I feel sorry for them. If you're not getting enough sleep at night, you'll definitely be exhausted during the day in your classes.
2. Eat right
Although it is hard to find eatable, healthy options at the campus dining hall, try to eat at least one fruit and vegetable a day. If you're lucky and your parents give you an allowance, please go buy some groceries so you can have some healthy food options in your dorm.
3. Take your vitamins
Since being at college, I've noticed a decline in nutrients and the only thing keeping me going and not getting sick are my multivitamins. I take one multivitamin and one fish oil pill every morning and it reassures me that my body is still getting the nutrients it needs.
4. Don't go out every night
College is the time to be alive and meet new people and make memories... on the weekend. I've seen so many dressed up girls on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and I can't help but worry for their sleep schedule and academic performance. I love going outatleastbut it's even better on the weekends when I am finished with my studies for the week.
5. Call your mom
Depending on how close you are with your family, a call to your parents is always beneficial for your health and you can vent about your stressors and fatigue. Nothing beats getting sympathy from your parents and knowing someone cares about your wellbeing.
