The only constant of space and time is dust
The mutating motion of matter—
Decaying walls held together by photographs.
Eternity is a war.
Humanity fights for permanence,
Anything to avoid the fire of truth, which will turn us into ashes.
We must run from the beautiful.
We must shield our eyes from the light.
Once upon a time, I knew nothing but light.
I knew the truth—the beauty—the good—
I knew the One.
The constant before dust, who brought me from dust.
And oh, the light.
I
looked
into
the
light
and
it
was
so
very
beautiful.
The light looked back and I fell.
If you fall, he said, you will un-be
And you will know—
To know you must fall
Truth through death. Truth through deity.
We are fragile, we are changed, we are un-being.
What shall hold us together?
Ring around a roses, pocket full of posies
To ashes, to ashes,
We all fall
Down.
