Sabrina Carpenter, 17-year-old, is a singer/songwriter and actress. She is signed to Hollywood Records, and released her debut song, Can't Blame a Girl for Trying, in Spring 2014 on her EP with the same title. The following Spring she released her first studio album, Eyes Wide Open, which featured her debut song along with many new tracks.
Taking the world by storm as she releases powerful new music! This album is a step towards her evolution as an artist. Her newest tracks have an emotional yet upbeat feel to them. I believe that each song tells a story through powerful lyrics! Carpenter released her second album, Evolution,at midnight on October 14, 2016, with the hit single On Purpose. She sings about pain and love through her ten beautifully written songs.
Earlier this year, Carpenter released her singles "Smoke and Fire" and "On Purpose" along with a Music Video for each. Those songs continue to be my favorites out of all of her music. In both singles, she talks about past relationships, which I think is very relatable especially to teens through mid-20s.
"Lost in darkness, You're my focus, Love me hopeless, But I guess that we did it on purpose."
The same night her album released she tweeted to her fans, “hope you listen to #EVOLution when you feel alone and know I’m right there beside you figuring out this life thing. Love you guys.” This is one of the things, that makes her one of my favorite singers. She always connects with her fans through Twitter questions.
The next day she answered questions about the album through the hashtag, EVOLution.
Gabriel asked, "What's the message you want to give us with this album?"
Sabrina's answer: "We learn from our mistakes that's how we grow. In tough times we turn to wherever we find love."
Through this one she gave love to her "Girl Meets World" family.
Paulo asked, "Who was the first person you played the entire album for when it was finished?"
Sabrina's answer: "Honestly I think it was Auggie."
On October 11, her first headline tour was sold out, Evolution Tour 2016. Her tour kicked off in Nashville, TN on October 18 and his ending in Charlotte, NC on December 13.
You can find all of Sabrina's music on Spotify. The night after her album was released, I added the rest of her songs to my playlist. I love them all. It is definitely hard to pick favorites because they all have such powerful meanings to different people. If I had to pick my favorites from Evolution I would pick: On Purpose, Shadows, and Don't Want It Back.
