We go to these places on a daily sometimes, where It’s cozy, buzzing with voices, papers flipping, students studying, and people picking up orders. Coffee shops exist all around the world. Something about a coffee shop's atmosphere is conducive to conversations and creativity. People accomplish goals in these places and it is an ideal meeting place and it augments friendships and strengthens sociability.

What is it about it that we like so much for those who love working or just hanging out at a coffee shop?

For many college students, this is the only place that they can concentrate and need the caffeine to fuel their educational endeavors. It is a refuge and place for thinkers and it makes a world of difference. These places stimulate your mind and palate.

A little coffee house history- Coffee houses originated in Europe and sprang up in the late 17th century in the United States. They encouraged people to be sober. They also differed from taverns back in the day. Coffee houses used to be for the elite of society when they first started and mostly filled with men. Few women were welcomed. These were places dedicated to reading current events, and conducting business.

We love going to the café, to escape a world of distractions. We tend to get more work done in a coffee house rather than at home or the library. We got home and drop our things after a long day at work and we begin to do tidy up the place. We can forget about what needed to get done. So, we'd rather be at a coffee shop where our focus is optimal.

Coffee shops are places that we get work done and people meet for various reasons. The day and night atmospheres differ. By day it is a hustle and bustle. There is a variety of cafés, there are some that are the generic ‘here’s your coffee’ that the whole world drinks. Then by night, it turns into a lounging area, where creativity permeates the soul.

Then there are unique café’s that make the experience of ordering caffeine infused drinks unique. They add a little something extra and make you feel at home. These coffee shops are my favorite. By night they turn into places that exhibit creativity. There are cafés where they hold night time events like music and welcome creative individuals.

The true coffee shops take the time and add something extra on your lattés. When someone finds a unique, authentic coffee place is a treasure. Sometimes you can just enjoy a cup of coffee and next it can turn into a night where open-mic is playing and you get to experience more than what you came for. The evolution of coffee house as a business to a place of creativeness has made coffee houses a popular and permanent element of our society today.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
