10 Reasons why EVERY Woman Should Cut Off All Their Hair at Least Once

Here's a list of 10 reasons why every woman should cut off their hair at least once in their life.

The Payoff

Giphy

You know that feeling when you’ve been telling yourself that you’ll do something, again and again, until it feels like it’s a constant nagging in your own brain. Well this is one of those things. Once you do it, a huge weight will be lifted from your shoulders.

Your hair does NOT define you

Giphy

You are who you are, because of what you’ve learned in life, and what you’ve decided to take with you on your journey. You are not who are you, because of your jean size, or the length of your hair.

People think their opinion matters more than your own

Giphy

The minute you mention that you want to cut your hair, everyone wants to tell you their opinion on why you shouldn’t. Doesn’t that make you just want to do it more?

Society says you shouldn’t

Giphy

Long hair is beauty....Right?

Wrong. Prove to society that our beauty lies within, and that we as women can do whatever we damn well please.

Sometimes change is needed

Giphy

Life takes you on some unexpected turns, and sometimes you just need something new. Whether you’re trying to find yourself again, or you want a new look, cutting your hair is that type of change that will make you finally BREATHE again.

It grows back

Giphy

It’s hair remember? It’ll grow back. Yeah, it might take you a few years, but didn’t you waste a few years waiting on your ex to change too? Why not do something for you this time around.

You’ll rock it

Giphy

Stop comparing yourself, and do something that scares you, and changes the way you see yourself. I’d say cutting your hair off is pretty damn scary, but you know what? You’ll rock it, and that confidence will feel better than anything you’ve ever felt before.

Men do it

Giphy

We keep saying woman can do anything that men can, but for some reason when we grow our armpit hair, or bulk up our muscles, people say we shouldn’t. Cut off your hair girl. Look better than your boss, and ten times like your father!

Fear is in the past

Giphy

We give birth, we clean, we cook, we inspire, we get the money, we boss up, we run the world. Don’t you want to add “rocks short hair” on that list too?

It’ll change your life

Giphy

Just trust me on this one. Cutting your hair is one thing that you can only understand, after you do it. And remember, you’re a bad bitch no matter what you do it. Pick your head, go for it, and be a better you. Show younger girls that nothing defines who we are! You got this!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
