Everything You Need To Hear In This Moment

Although you feel lost, you are not alone.

Stop. Whatever you may be doing right now, drop it. Walk away from it in this moment and take a minute to read this.

You are alive, you are on this planet for a purpose whether you have discovered that purpose yet or not. You are here in this moment, in this very world, for a reason that is true and unique to you. You are experiencing everything that you are in a way that is unique and specific to you. Your struggles, your blessings, your mistakes, all of them are specific and unique to you. You are you, and you are the only only you on this planet.

You are beautiful and kind and if somebody does not realize that then they do not deserve your acknowledgement. You are important and have a worth far more valuable than those around you that try to drag you down. You are all of the sunshine rays compiled into human form, you shine brighter each day and should never allow anybody to try to dull that shine.

You are on a journey that brings you in every which way, and at some points, you feel as though you're alone. This journey isn't meant to be understood and you must realize that even at the darkest hour, there will always be somebody there to help you along. The journey will twist and turn into directions that seem to make no sense but just know that it's okay to feel lost as long as you trust the process it is putting you through.

Nothing is instant, nothing will ever be handed on a silver platter. In order to obtain what you want, you have to work, but you will only receive as much as you're willing to put in. Whether it be at work or school or wherever you may be, don't let anybody outwork you for what you want; do not stop until you get where you're going and once you're there, stop and soak it in. Your rewards are reaped from your work, so enjoy the satisfaction that comes along with it.

It's okay if your life isn't exactly where you want it to be. You're life is constantly changing, and each minute poses a new opportunity. Just because it isn't where you want it to be doesn't mean it isn't on it's way there. It's a process that you need to trust, even if the process is unclear.

It's okay to not know what you're meant to be, or what you're supposed to be doing with your future. You're young, and the time you have to figure it out is far more exponential than the time you have to enjoy your time being young and experiencing life. Travel the world, eat the piece of cake, go for the morning run, sit with the kid alone at the lunch table, go out on a Friday night. It's okay to experience these things; this is the time you have to do this, and it's the time to be young.

You're going to try new things and fail so many times before you finally get it right so don't be discouraged when you don't succeed on the first try; even Albert Einstein had to start somewhere. Don't have expectations for every opportunity that arises because it's better to be surprised by the outcome than be let down because it wasn't what you were hoping for.

Above all, let go of your worries. Things aren't going to be the same forever, nor are they going to be constantly changing. Don't stress the things out of your control; just take everything day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute. Do not worry about the things you cannot control, do not worry about your future, do not worry about the judgmental people you'll meet.. keep your face towards the sunshine so the shadows stay behind you. Breathe and just be at peace with yourself, to be happy is to be free. Love yourself and your life; the vibes you give off attract the same in return. Radiate sunshine but never be eclipsed, and always have a full heart.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
