When I saw that a second installment of the Gods not dead series was coming out I had to take a moment to address how I feel about the whole movie series as a Christian. This may not be very popular to some of my more conservative Christian friends, but what's one more strike against me right?
I absolutely despise this movie series. Why you ask? It's simple. CHRISTIANS ARE NOT BEING PERSECUTED in America. Do you want to go somewhere where you'll really be persecuted? Try China or the Middle East.
Just because same-sex couples have the right of marriage now does not mean that your rights are threatened.
Anyways, now that I had my moment to be angry, let me be a bit more civil if I may, for this points to a bigger problem in America. Lately American Christians feel scared it seems. As more of the LGBTQIA community gains rights, some Christians sincerely feel marginalized. To non-affirming Christians, may I point out that you can support legalization of gay marriage while still not agreeing with it morally. Also, does serving a wedding cake or basic commodities really go against your beliefs? I have a hard time beliving that these dilemmas people face are of God.
The fact of the matter is that some Christians like to forget that we have a separation between church and state. For instance, Tensassee recently tried to make the Bible the state book! It's ridiculous. I'm pretty sure Jesus will judge my personal life based on how I followed him personally and how I cared for people. NOT how much I pushed my religion on others through politics.
Christians, until we get past this state of feeling persecuted just because more groups are gaining rights, the only person being persecuted here is Jesus Christ. So please, stop with the victimization and actually spread the love of Christ!
