The textbook definition of clout is to have the ability to influence others with ease. When a person has clout their opinion carries weight, people care what they have to say – they have the sauce. Such can be said for any individual who possesses a pair of these beauties:

Designed by Christian Roth and popularized by Kurt Cobain in the 90s, these vintage Series 6558 shades have been plucked from obscurity and are back with a vengeance. For people who are familiar with the glasses, they were more than likely introduced to them by music artists like Kali Uchis, Migos, Lil Yatchy, Tyler, The Creator, etc. But according to Know Your Meme, the person who’s actually responsible for the resurgence of Roth’s eyewear is Denzel Curry.

In a YouTube video that he uploaded on June 1st, Curry, while wearing a pair of glasses similar to the Series 6558s, tells an anecdote that establishes them as “clout goggles”:

In the video, Curry lets the young woman that confused his clout goggles for mere mortal lenses and the rest of the world know what’s up. By coining a phrase that has resulted in a $500 pair of glasses being simply known as clout goggles, Curry further legitimizes that he indeed does have clout.

Care to join the craze? Imitations of Christian Roth’s Series 6558s can be found here and here.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
