2018 was a roller coaster, and I'm sure most people would agree. But isn't every year like that?

Every year we teach ourselves a lesson, and sometimes it depends upon us if we keep it or not. These are the major things I learned this year and what I will be bringing into 2019. Life is all about learning lessons and moving on.

1. Not everyone stays in your life forever.

Not everyone you meet will stay in your life forever. Sometimes, the people you think you would be best friends with until the end of time end up being distant and no longer are your friends, and that's okay. You have the rest of your life to make new friends and find people that will stay in your life forever. Whether it be family members, friends, boyfriends/girlfriends, etc. not everyone will stay in your life, and that is more than okay.

2. Everyone makes mistakes. It's time to learn to forgive.

Everyone makes mistakes, and holding grudges in life gets you nowhere. Throughout 2018, I've found myself disliking many people and even holding grudges against them, but there is no use. Yes, they might have hurt you, but you don't want to spend the rest of your life hating someone because it will never put you in a positive mood. Get rid of that negativity and forgiving someone gives you a sense of peace. Even if you don't talk to them, just knowing you have forgiven them, will make you feel a lot better.

3. Stop judging everyone.

It's 2018, and judging others is so like 10 years ago. Let people be who they want to be. Whether they be extremely weird or strange, whoever they are and whoever they express themselves as, leave them be. If they're happy with who they are, there's no reason for anyone to judge them. Let's leave judging people behind and start to be more accepting. I'll admit, I've judged people, I'm sure everyone has. Let's not do it anymore.

4. Make time for yourself.

I have found myself constantly being so busy with trying to make time for everyone else, but me. I've been so stressed and anxious with trying to make other people happy by making time for them, that I was starting to feel sad within myself. It's time I give myself some quiet time and relaxation time and focus on my dreams and goals instead of others. It's time I start worrying about myself more and focusing on my well being because being the best you is important and wanting to give yourself the time is vital in staying happy.

5. Stop being lazy.

Everyone is a victim of being lazy, but being lazy doesn't do anything for you. I find myself never finding the motivation to do anything and it has bitten me in the butt many times. It's time that I start finding the motivation to do what I need to do. Whether it be school work, running errands, cooking, doing laundry, etc. You accomplish so much more when you are productive. When you aren't lazy, you're out doing stuff. Going on road trips or traveling or even taking risks you never thought you would of. You find yourself becoming more adventurous. Stop being lazy, let 2019 be a productive year where you actually get things done.

6. Don't let other's bad mood affect your good mood.

Just because a customer had a nasty attitude, doesn't mean it should bring down your mood. I've had people's negativity affect my positivity and it hurt me emotionally. Let's not let other's negativity affect us. Someone else might be going through something so tough that all they can look to do is be emotionally mean/rude to others. Sometimes you just have to let it go and ignore it, knowing that your life is good and everything is good and you should still continue to be in the best mood.

All of these lessons are lessons learned and I'll be taking them with me into 2019. Let 2019 be a year of positivity and growth. Every year should be a year of growth, really. I hope everyone else has learned some good lessons throughout 2018 that they can bring with them into 2019.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
