If you've ever seen anything performed by the stand-up comedian Iliza Shlesinger, you know that on top of being hilarious, her comedy is honest and inspirational. Being a 20-year-old college student, I have found every interview, show and performance she has taken part in to be something that everyone should hear, as it's more than simple comedy. Everyone should listen to Iliza Shlesinger and here's why:

She Says What Other People Won't

A lot of stand-up comedians, for the most part, address topics that other people would choose not to, including topics like sex, society, and personal conflicts. However, most other stand-up comedians solely address these topics to get a good laugh or tell a funny story. If you listen to anything regarding these topics as addressed by Iliza, you get a new perspective. You don't just hear her address them to be funny, but on top of the humor she displays, she's actually getting the word out on her thoughts and ideals about these topics.

One of my personal favorites would be when she talks in her Confirmed Kills tour about feminism. When addressing this topic, Shlesinger mentions sexual oppression and the fact that men are seen as such a dominant gender simply because they're physically stronger than women. At one point, she continues to say "do you think if women were physically stronger than men we would have waited for the right to vote?" As Shlesinger mentions this, she then goes on to give humorous examples and jokes about the topic. However, Shlesinger was serious about the topics addressed and is still giving her personal input about it.

Everything She Says Is Relatable

While Iliza does talk about various topics, they're all relatable to basically everyone or any situation. Whether it's about girls' bags or going out or boys, everything she talks about is so relatable, it's like she's reading your mind. I've never heard of a description of the bottom of my bag more clearly than when she talks about them on her Confirmed Kills taping. Her bit about the "party goblin" could not be a more accurate description of how you act when going out.

She's a True Role Model

Iliza is without a doubt the funniest comedian I've listened to. On top of how she is at her career, she's a phenomenal role model for others. She's managed to keep her composure, which most celebrities don't. Additionally, she really does advocate for women's rights and equality and addresses the issues with society today and how we need to command respect as women by acting appropriate towards one another. Shlesinger also supports the advocates for people being happy with the way they are, and not to listen to society when they say everything is wrong with you. When it comes to her fans, she also shows consistent love and support and appreciation for them, where most celebrities seem to lose appreciation for those sorts of things.

While Shelsinger is a great role model and relatable, her comedy is absolutely hilarious. If you listen to her, you will not fail to be humored and inspired.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
