Why Everyone Should Have a Bucket List

In the past couple years, bucket lists have become extremely popular. People are making summer bucket lists, college bucket lists, people are making bucket lists for everything in life. It started with just making a general bucket list of things you want to do before you die. I personally think that this is a wonderful idea for many different reasons.

People should always have goals that they are working towards. I think this is one of the great ways that we can “keep our eyes on the prize” and focus on the good that we want to achieve. I also think that this makes us work harder to achieve those things. It’s almost like a reward system to keep us on the straight and narrow.

Your bucket list can be short or long. It can be silly or serious. Whatever gets you working toward a goal and helps you achieve the important things that are in your life. Life sometimes gets too serious and we don’t enjoy it. We get so overwhelmed by working and making money that we don’t enjoy life and do the things that are important to us.

I also think that bucket lists are important because it can bring people together. Whether you make a bucket list that you do all yourself, or if you do it with friends, family, or your significant other, it will bring people together. It gives you a sense of adventure and thrill to your life and also to the people that you choose to do it with. Just think of all the memories that you will be making.

Do you need some ideas? Well it can be anything. Some examples are: flying in a hot air balloon, graduating college, getting your dream job, getting a dream car, running a marathon, going skydiving, going to a certain country, going to all of the 50 states, learning a new language, swimming with dolphins, going to see your favorite musicals, learning to ice skate, going to the summer or winter Olympics, volunteering somewhere that means a lot to you, trying crazy foods, adopting an animal, it can literally be anything. Just make sure it is special to you and makes you want to strive and achieve it.

Having a bucket list is one of the best things that you can do. Not only does it make you a harder worker, but it also helps you achieve the things that make you happy in life. Those two things are two of the most important things in this world. So, get to work on that bucket list and start crossing them off slowly, including all the important things and important people that are in your life!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
