...And then reality hits.

Bahamas was unbelievable senior year of high school, but spring break once you’re in college is a whole different ball game. Miami surpassed all of my expectation’s by a landslide; I’d literally get on a plane and go back right now, and I bet anyone who went would say the same. But, it’s back to reality, and reality hit pretty hard. When you’re on a beach, you forget how hard school can be. But don’t worry, it'll remind you the second you get back.

1. “I miss the sun”

There is truly nothing like waking up and knowing that when you walk outside it’ll be so bright you'll have to squint, even with sunglasses on, and you'll be sweating before you even make it to the beach.

2. “Why didn't I cancel my flight? Who needs reality?”

Why am I not on the beach right now?

3. “How do I study again?”

It’s like the sun literally fries your brain… or being away from school for a bit just allowed you to destress and forget what it means to be a student… or the year is coming to a close, and everyone is just OVER IT.

4. “Wait how is this year over in less than two months?”

Where does the time go? I'm starting to get emotional that I'm not going to be a freshman for very much longer.

5. “That was the best week of my life.”

I thought we had fun at school (which we do), but nothing compares to spring break. Let the countdown to spring break 2019 begin!

When it comes to Bloomington-Normal, there are many outstanding factors that any Illinois State student can say are unique to our college town (and maybe others too). Proud or not, we Redbirds know all the ins and outs of Blono.

1. The wait for Buffalo Wild Wings is always going to be long on Thursday nights.

As hard as we try, it's nearly impossible to resist the 69-cent wings on a college student budget. Plus, they are always delicious!
