Whether you are new to makeup or an expert, everyone needs some everyday essentials.
1. Beauty Blender
Great for concealer blending or foundation application. The name brand beauty blender can get expensive. I suggest the Real Techniques version. It usually sells closer to $6.
2. Large Powder Brush
Setting your foundation or putting on the finishing touch to concealer is important. Powder helps your makeup last longer. I suggest the Real Techniques Bold Metals 100 Arched Powder Brush. Its around $20 and totally worth it!
3. Small Stipple Brush
This kind of brush can be great for blending concealer, putting on foundation, or other creamed products. This brush helps blend better than a thick kabuki type brush. I suggest e.l.f.’s Small Stipple Brush.
4. Angled Powder Brush
Angled brushes are great for contouring with powder or applying blush or highlighter. The angle helps get the product exactly where you want it. Try out bareMinerals’ Angled Blush brush.
5. Blending Eyeshadow Brush
This type of brush is great for finishing off eye shadow or blending through the application process. It’s a must have! Try Luxie 205 Tapered Blending brush.
6. Basic Eye Shadow Brush
Everyone needs a basic brush for eye shadow. There’s a ton of these kinds of brushes out there. I suggest something not too fluffy and not too stiff. MAC 213 is a great one!
7. Fluffy Eye Shadow Brush
This kind of brush is similar to a basic brush with a little extra fluff! It works good for a more loose application of shadows or detailed highlighter application. Try Stila’s brush number 5.
8. Small Angled Brush
This brush can get lots of use. It works for eyeliner, eyebrow filling, creases, and under eyes. Just make sure to clean it between uses! Try MAC 266.
