Dear college professors,
Please read the list below and take some notes.
Sincerely,
A Stressed Out College Student
1. If the WHOLE class failed the test, then obviously YOU didn't do a good job teaching the material. It's not the students fault, it's yours.
2. I'm sorry, I have to say this one again: IF THE WHOLE CLASS FAILED THE TEST, THEN OBVIOUSLY YOU DIDN'T DO A GOOD JOB TEACHING GHE MATERIAL. IT'S NOT THE STUDENTS FAULT, IT'S YOURS.
3. Don't make us buy $100+ textbooks that you know we will only be reading one chapter out of. And actually the same goes for access codes. We are broke college students. Stop making us buy expensive things if we don't actually need them.
4. Group projects suck. We're in college now. Our grade shouldn't be determined by someone else not putting the work in.
5. If it's snowy/icy out and the university doesn't delay or cancel classes, please cancel your class. A lot of us have to walk to campus and although I myself haven't slipped due to ice, I know of a lot of students who have.
6. Please understand that most of us are full-time college students and your class isn't the only class we have. Assigning 6+ hours of homework to be done in 2 days is a lot.
7. If you see that the class is struggling to grasp the material and a test on it is scheduled soon, move the test so your class actually has a chance at passing. If not, then refer to numbers 1 and 2.
8. It is extremely frustrating when you don't upload grades in a timely manner or give back papers. How am I supposed to know if I'm doing well in the class if I don't even know my grade in it?
And to the professors who already understood these eight points and don't aim to make college students lives more stressful than they need to be, thank you.
