Kingdom Hearts Is The One Positive Game Kids Should Play

Violence, violence, violence! So much of it lately in the world and all around us, but...as much as some parents want to blame video games. (I'm not speaking for ALL parents, don't freak out.) Not all of them are bad. In fact, from personal experience, a lot of them are educational, motivational, fun, and stress relieving. The only game I want to introduce to you right now is "Kingdom Hearts." If you haven't introduced this to your kids yet, you're a bit late. But that's A-Okay. There's still time.

Why should you care about "Kingdom Hearts?" Why would you want to know what that is? Why should your child be playing it?

"Kingdom Hearts" is one of the most influential and educational video games to inspire me as a child and many others. This game teaches about the importance of friendship. It shows us that we all harbor a bit of darkness inside of us, but that's not a problem because we can always find the light within to fight it.

Inside this world, the characters are not just friends but a family brought together by the darkness to fight and ultimately save many worlds from disappearing and becoming nothing. A mischievous organization lurks in the background causing chaos and our characters are absurdly optimistic, but it works.

You get to establish relationships through the world that will help you later on. There's plenty of story to keep you playing for hours if you so choose. Personally, it's never a dull moment. Every cutscene is crucial and feeds you information that helps you stay connected so you never feel lost. I recommend starting the little ones around the age of eight or nine. Start too young and they might not fully grasp the concept.

"Kingdom Hearts" is the type of game that will stay with you for years to come. It's unforgettable in every way because of the connection you feel with the characters and the tension in battle, the heartbreak and ultimate victory. Every battle that you win feels incredibly rewarding. This game has a large community of fans and people who feel the exact same way. Think of why every Disney movie is successful for a moment. Think about the story and the way it's structured. It's a gift that Disney offers its audience. Think of this game as an exaggerated Disney film. There's so much backstory to know that it will keep your kid entertained for days as they learn the ins and outs of the world.

I will say that video games are a release for our human nature. It's healthy to escape into a different world when we're stressed because it acts as a coping mechanism. Every child should experience the wonder of "Kingdom Hearts." It's a game that leaves you feeling like you've gained friends for a lifetime. The stories told and the characters you meet leave an imprint like no other. Don't waste any more time. Hey, you might enjoy it too. It's not just for kids.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
