Have You Ever Wished You Could Live At Disney World? Now You Can!
WDWLIVE

Many of us, after our first visit to Disney World, looked over at our parents and said, "Mommy, Daddy, can we live at Disney World?!" And, of course, all of us were met with laughter and a gentle let down of being told that Disney World is for vacations, not for living. After a temper tantrum, some Mickey Mouse ears and a dole whip to pacify you, you gave up on the notion of living at Disney World entirely.

Well, ladies and gentlemen of the 90s nostalgia era, you can now live at Disney World, or at least feel like it, in their gorgeous gated community, four miles from the Magic Kingdom. That's probably shorter than the commute to work for most people. Yes, folks, you can now live on Disney Property year round. Talk about an actual House of Mouse, am I right?

The community is called Disney's Golden Oaks. It's a very exclusive, private neighborhood owned by the Disney company themselves. The homes are exceptionally beautiful and come with a whole bucket of perks. According to their online brochure, owning Golden Oaks property includes a wide array of membership advantages, including year-round park tickets (including Magic Hours), VIP tours, Disney themed Holiday Decor, event planning services, dining and spa reservations, private transportation within the Walt Disney World Resort and all merchandise purchases delivered directly to your house. Let's face it, with all these perks, how else is a princess supposed to live?!

Who can go wrong with a deck view like that! Plus, the rest of the houses are just as beautiful! Open floor plans, lake access, large bedrooms, gorgeous open patios and access to the "clubhouse" with activities going on year round for the young ones. It doesn't get much better than that.

Now, for the heartbreaker: the cheapest homes in this community are upwards of $2 million dollars. (Yikes!) I could probably pay off my student loans and be set for life with that kind of money. Let's face it, unless you were born with a silver spoon in your pocket, it looks like Golden Oaks is out of the budget for a majority of us, at least for a while.

Well, a girl can dream. If you're curious about poking around and playing house online, the link is right here. The website includes a brochure, virtual house tours and contact information for, you know, when you win the lottery and can magically afford one of these beautiful homes.

When you wish upon a star, maybe you could afford something like this someday. You know, when you win the lottery or land your dream job, or become famous. Never say never!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
