Like many other students, I decided to take summer classes. When I signed up I expected to have a summer filled with studying and a lot of Netflix. I didn't really think there was much to do in Reno during the summer, considering the majority of my friends are back home, or embarking on adventures in new cities. I was WRONG. Reno has so many cool events during the summer. I’d say there is actually MORE to do in the summer than any other season. Here are some events for this month!

June 13- September 30 (every Wednesday)

Feed the Camel

At the Mckinley Arts & Culture Center from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

To celebrate HUMP day Reno is putting on this awesome food truck event! Enjoy a unique selection of food and local beer by the river!

June 13 - October 1

This event really caught my attention! They have 12 different activity rooms and 100+ events! These events range from tournaments to demonstrations. If you're like me and are interested in new things I’d recommend going to this event.

June 16

The Killers

At the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino from 9 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Ok there is a lot going on this day, BUT if you're a fan of the Killers (like myself) I highly recommend going to their concert! It’s getting really close to the concert date so I’m sure prices have gone up, but It's worth checking out if you’re a fan!

June 17-18

The Great Eldorado BBQ, Brews, and Blues festival

At the Eldorado Resort Casino from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Live entertainment, food, and beer? This sounds like a great way to spend a summer day! Check out their Facebook page for details on their events throughout the day!

I hope this list helps you find cool things to do in Reno. Most of the time, there are so many events going on and I don't find out about them until after. So if you're planning on pausing your Netflix movie, and getting out of the house you have a list of ideas to refer to! Have a great summer everyone!

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
