Whoever said traveling wasn't the best experience of your life was seriously mistaken. For the last two weeks I was traveling to both London, England and Rome, Italy, and let me tell you, it was the best two weeks of my life.
For the first few days, we were in London. We went sightseeing at places like Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and many others. I have always seen these famous places in pictures but never understood how grand they all are. They all looked beautiful and it was just so breathtaking to see.
After London, we hopped over to Rome. Let me tell you, Rome is beautiful. The sun was shining and was scorching hot, but it was so worth it. Buildings and little stores are all crammed together on little roads, and you can walk practically everywhere. The Trevi Fountain was the most breathtaking monument I saw, especially lovely at night when it's all lit up and the water sparkles. Fresh Italian food was amazing, ranging from pasta to Nutella flavored gelato (My vacation obsession).
We went back to London for the last few days of our vacation, and I saw even more than I did at the beginning! We went downtown to one of the oldest cathedrals in London, Southwark Cathedral, dating back to before the 1100s! Most of the original pieces of the church's architecture were there, although some parts of stone had to be updated. The most amazing memory I have of this trip was randomly breaking into song in the church with my family. When we sang together, the sound just filled up the whole room and echoed, making it sound like Heaven's gates were opening up. We sang inspirational oldies that hopefully brought peace to the people around us.
Lastly, we of course had to see all the spots for the Harry Potter movies. I even took a picture on Platform 9 3/4!
This trip was the best vacation I've ever had, and I cannot wait until I am able to go back!
