5 Essential Songs To Power Any College Student Through Spring Semester

1. "Idle Worship" by Paramore

From the album "After Laughter," this song makes you want to get up and dance. Hailey Williams's raw natural voice paired with uplifting beats is all that we need sometimes. You'll catch yourself singing at the top of your lungs and forgetting about that stubborn writing assignment, even if it's just for three minutes.

2. "Double Negative (Skeleton Milkshake)" by Dominic Fike

Dominic Fike's first full album "What Could Possibly Go Wrong" is full of personal and catchy songs. "Double Negative" in particular is one that will have you up and moving. In two minutes, you'll end up wanting more and will constantly have it on repeat. I enjoy "Double Negative" for the sole reason that it is so catchy and the lyrics are relatable. Dominic Fike's versatility is rare and definitely worth a listen!

3. "백현 Candy" by BAEKHYUN

In his second EP Delight, current EXO member Baekhyun gives listeners a fresh song. Every time I listen to "Candy," it feels like listening to it for the first time. The line "girl I'm your candy" has been engraved in my brain ever since listening to it. I am an avid listener of Kpop, and if you've never had the chance to listen to any groups or soloist, "Candy" is a perfect place to start.

4. "BLEACH" by BROCKHAMPTON

I found myself constantly listening to this song during syllabus week as it feels so groovy and nostalgic. It's a song that's perfect for dancing in your room right before starting assignments. "Bleach" is the song that brings back good memories for me, and for that reason, I tend to listen to it when things are getting tough.

5. "Nights" by Frank Ocean

Your playlist is not complete without Frank Ocean. "Nights" is that song you need to listen to during nighttime drives with the windows down after a successful study day. I will admit that I have never gotten tired of this song and will always attribute it to good memories. Frank Ocean's discography is one that most people enjoy, and without a doubt, "Ocean" will help us through this semester.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
