For those who don't know, writer's block is a temporary restraint on your brain, you can't come up with ideas, you can't write at all and it is extremely frustrating.
Distractions
When I have writer's block, I get distracted ridiculously easy, which is probably because I've nearly given up on trying to write my piece. I'll sit in front of my computer screen for hours, type a few words here and there may be. But in the end, I'm still just left with a blank page.
I'll try to keep off of my electronics the best I can, but I still find myself texting or opening up a tab of Facebook on my laptop. Basically, anything is more appealing to me when I have writer's block.
Lack of ideas/ too many ideas
My biggest struggle with writer's block is the imbalance of ideas in my head. More often than anything, I have a ton of ideas circling around, but I just can't find a way to write about them…at all. The words just don't come to me, I can't see that vision that I normally do and I feel like I can't write at all.
Equally as bad, I also have days when I can't find a single topic to write about. That is terribly frustrating. There are a billion things in this world to write about, yet when you have writer's block, you just sit there not able to think of anything at all.
No motivation
Writer's block makes me shut down because I can't write anything – so if I feel like I can't, I won't. It's kind of a bad habit of mine, but if nothing is working what's the point?
Overall, writer's block is the WORST! A writers worst nightmare, and there's no escaping it.
