10 Of The Most Epic Movie Soundtracks Ever

Movies are nothing without the music.

I really don’t like music all that much and the few songs I do listen to are pretty much all over the place genre-wise. Music for me is something that gets me through my workouts and nothing more. Unless we are talking about movie soundtracks, then I would consider myself a huge music junky.

Music plays such a pivotal role in movies and is what sets the tone for so many epic scenes. Without music, movies would suck. There’s a reason most of my favorite movies also have amazing soundtracks. The two are obviously correlated. Here are ten of what I believe to be the most epic and amazing movie soundtracks that exist today (in no specific order because that would be impossible).

1. "Pirates of the Caribbean"

All these movies are perfection, first of all, second, Johnny Depp, and third the soundtrack is so kick butt and full of the adventure which is what makes these movies so great.

2. "Star Wars"

Everyone knows the theme song to "Star Wars" and if you don’t you’ve obviously been living under a rock. John Williams is a genius and if the amazing trumpet fanfare at the beginning doesn’t give you goosebumps then you have no right to listen to Williams’ amazing music.

3. "Avatar"

Most people either love or hate this (almost) three-hour long movie (even thought there’s nothing to hate). "Avatar" is a masterpiece in and of itself and the soundtrack is no different. The music is so exotic and captivating that I can’t help but play my favorite scenes from the music while listening to it.

4. "How to Train Your Dragon"

This soundtrack is the definition of perfection. With the Norwegian music style and the powerful sound, I can listen to this over and over again without fail.

5. "Harry Potter"

Once again, John Williams creates a masterpiece that people never tire of listening to. Ugh, what I would do just to meet John Williams.

6. "Beauty and the Beast"

I feel like I shouldn’t need to explain myself on this one, but I will anyways. Belle and I both want adventure in the great wide somewhere and this soundtrack helps people see that. The songs and orchestral pieces are pure works of art.

7. "Wonder Woman"

The first thing I fell in love with in this movie was the music. Wonder Woman’s theme song is so spy-like and empowering that it made me want to fight like Wonder Woman, even though I’ve never thrown a punch in my life.

8. "Jurassic Park"

Can you tell that I really like John Williams? There’s more than just dinosaurs that make this movie amazing. However, I can't help but find this theme song tame for the type of movie it represents.

9. "Brave"

I love the Scottish tone to the music in this movie that makes it so fun and jovial to listen to. The music in "Brave" is unique which makes it all the better to listen to.

10. "Black Panther"

Not only was this diverse movie amazing, the soundtrack was also just as wicked. I love it when movie soundtracks incorporate different musical tones from different cultures and "Black Panther" (obviously) is no exception. The soundtrack is pure genius along with the movie itself.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
