Can You Envision It?

The uncommon, yet, common career paths that the world seems to be so against...

Remember when you were a kid? You'd always say: "I want to be a doctor.." or "..an astronaut..." or "... a lawyer!"

Whatever it may have been that you'd want to be, it was something of importance that would add and contribute to society. Me? I wanted to be "...a party hostess.." and "... a cosmetologist..." and "... a singer/dancer/actor..."

All things that are marked to not really contribute to societal needs, only their wants. Thus, people label these careers as unstable, unrealistic, and illogical to follow. But... why?

Everyone was born with different skills, talents, and for different reasons. Some people were born to assist the grooming of others, and some were meant to entertain. Some people are great at organizing and cleaning. Some love to keep a sanitary environment. Everyone is NOT born with the destiny of a liberal career. And if we all were, the world would be missing more pieces to the puzzle than it already is.

Let's imagine for a second. Let's take away entertainers, sanitation workers, artists, fashion designers, hair dressers, nail techs, etc. (Careers if you were in high school and told an adult you wanted to pursue, they'd more than likely disapprove). Let's imagine we live in a world full of ONLY lawyers, doctors, chemists, engineers, psychologists, professors, politicians (God, help us), etc. This would be a sustainable world, right? Until people with free flowing brains are unable to focus during a surgery. Or until the weight of all those scientific theories collapses the minds of those who are unable to apply all of the information in their brain, leading to unreliable results. Or (God, forbid this in a lazy America) when their is no one at the bar to fix you a drink or any one to pick up your trash or bring you your mail or take your tickets at the theater... wait, that's right.. there'd be no theater.

I always compare life to my Sims game. People all have bars that need to be taken care of: hunger, sleep, hygiene, social, entertainment, and relief. Meaning humans have to get sleep, they have to stay clean, they have to eat and hydrate, and for the sake of their mental states, they must be social and have fun. Like the outlet theater became during World War I, that is the outlet entertainers have become in daily life. Can you make your facial hair look the same as your barber does? Can you sew and produce the same clothing you see in the store? Are you great at putting together events in the best quality but yet the cheapest way possible?

Everyone cannot do every thing, which in some ways, is what makes the human race special because we all eventually fit into the puzzle, even if we have no job, /then we become a consumer.

The vision we are all given is different than the vision that someone else may have for us. If our goal in life is to be happy, we can't do that trying to keep up with what every one else envisions for us.

One of our biggest goals in life is to be happy, and we seem to do anything and everything to even get a taste of that happiness. But, why stop someone else's?

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

CSU

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
