I Went To ONE Entrepreneurship Meeting At Kennesaw State University, And it Changed My Whole Perspective

Here at Kennesaw State University, there are numerous of clubs and organizations to join for all majors.

These organizations are helpful for students and alumni to get involved with their college, help network, make lifelong friends, and many more. Getting associated with a club is beneficial because it helps you grow your mind and as a person. Motivate yourself to put yourself out there, and find an organization that is the perfect fit for you (even if you don’t go to KSU).

On Tuesday, I attended an event called, “What The Entrepreneurship?” with E.C. Angels. At first, I was very timid because I did not know what to expect from this group and meeting. All of the girls in E.C. Angels are already successful in their businesses and I was just getting started on my business ideas. I felt very behind in my game. The E.C. Angels were so welcoming and you can tell that these ladies wanted to get to know you and your story. One of the things I adored at the event was that there were pink and white Post-It notes on the wall spelling “YOU” and people were writing on the pink Post-It notes. The saying for the “YOU” mural was, “It starts with you.” The purpose behind it was basically to tell your story as of why you wanted to get into a business, or what made you want to become an entrepreneur. I thought that was so powerful because you not only get to share your purpose, but you got to see other purposes.

As the event went on the speaker, Ariam was talking about how everyone has the skill to be an entrepreneur, but not everyone has the education. Kennesaw State is the only university in Georgia that offers Entrepreneurship as a B.B.A. That is crazy and amazing! Having the opportunity to major or minor in Entrepreneurship and receive the proper knowledge of Entrepreneurship can be a life-changing move for people who want to have their own business. For those that don’t want to major or minor in Entrepreneurship or do not have the opportunity to there are clubs you discover on KSU campus OR you can create a club that relates to Entrepreneurship.

Here are the Entrepreneurship Clubs:

- KSU Top 100

- E.C. Pitch Academy

- E.C. Retreats

- CEO Spotlight

- E.C. Angels

If these clubs are not available on your university campus, don’t be afraid to create your own.

After Ariam was finished speaking, everyone who attended was broken up into groups. The E.C. Angels were directing and asking the appropriate questions per group to get to know one another. The questions that were asked blew my mind. They were deep and genuine and straight to the point. I.E. “Who admired you and why? Any habit you do and can thank for the next day? What is your focus? Where are you with that? What is one question you need to answer yourself?” Take a moment and write down your answers. You’ll be astounded what you come up with. I was when I said my answers out loud. Use these questions and answers to stimulate your drive to start your business. Ask yourself every day why you’re doing this. Write it down so you can see it every day.

Rather it’s making a to-do list or going to lectures to motivate you and get you productive, you can do anything that you set your mind to with a little action. Going to the E.C. Angels meeting influenced me in so many ways (and I just went to one meeting). I cannot wait to see what E.C. Angels and the Entrepreneurship clubs have in store for me. I believe the Entrepreneurship clubs are going to make a big difference for me for my future. I hope you will take a leap of faith and try out one of these clubs and/or create your own!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
