As Fall has begun and the temperature is dropping, my desire to hit the outdoors for hiking has exceedingly increased. Not only am I dreaming about hiking, cozy sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes, I am dreaming about getting some good use out of a little thing I was introduced to last year. Not only is this packaged bundle great for the Fall, it is excellent for any time of the year. My friends, I would like to explain to you why an Eno Hammock is all I need this coming Fall.
1. They are easy to travel with.
Crazy enough, the Eno itself is the bag you see when looking at a wrapped up Eno. Attached on the side of an unwrapped Eno is a pouch, which in a matter of seconds, anyone can stuff the hammock into. When wrapped, it is small and easy to carry or place in any backpack or bag!
2. They are easy to put up and take down.
All you need is the Eno and the separately sold straps. There are multiple kinds of straps that you can buy, all easy and simple to use. One minute you’re holding two small bags, the next you’re standing in front of a miraculous hammock.
3. There are three different size options.
Eno offers a SingleNest and DoubleNest option when choosing preferred hammock size. Technically, if you want your own space when hammocking, you should stick to a SingleNest. If you plan on sharing body heat and space with another person all in one hammock, DoubleNest is for you! But who am I kidding, no one says you actually have to share the space you get with a DoubleNest. Last but not least, there is a DoubleDeluxe size which claims to fit two people and have enough space for those people to “stretch out”.
4. They're lightweight.
When adventuring out this Fall, I can assume you don’t want to be carrying loads with you. I am happy to say that your Eno is extremely lightweight. The SingleNest hammock only weighs in at 16 oz and the DoubleNest hammock weighs a whopping 19 oz.
5. There is an abundance of colors to choose from.
Don’t believe me? Go check it out on the Eno website! Almost all options include a combination of two colors, typically not common color combinations, which can only make Enoing more fun.
6. “Enoing” is a verb.
As previously stated in point five, the word “enoing” is a thing, as said so by almost all my fellow eno-ers and me. When you grab your Eno, whether you’re doing some serious hammocking or planning on leisurely hanging, you are enoing. Enoing is a hobby. Enoing is a sport. Enoing is a verb which I fully support.
7. They are stackable which, in turn, creates an Eno community.
Have you ever seen those cool pictures of people in the woods sitting in colorful hammocks all stacked? If so, you were looking at an Eno community. Stacking your Eno hammocks are not only great for pictures that will definitely rack up likes on Instagram, but it is fun. And, I might add, quite adventurous. It isn't so easy hanging an Eno 20 ft. up between a pair of trees.
8. They are stretchy and flexible.
Enos are made of porous which is technically breathable nylon. Think of an 80s/90s tracksuit. That material, all in hammock form! Not only stylish but stretchy. A SingleNest Eno can hold up to 400 lbs, which is specifically designed for one person. Personally speaking, I have fit in a SingleNester along with someone else, testifying that it is stretchy.
9. Did I mention fresh air?
The likelihood that you will find a place to hang your Eno indoors is very slim. Just like your mom has said before, go outdoors! Get some fresh air! But here’s the catch, take your Eno! I promise, going outdoors will become five times more exciting when you have that bundle of nylon with you.
10. Two-year Warranty.
Eno promises that their products hold a two-year warranty starting the day of purchase. Keep in mind that if purchased through an authorized retailer, you will need proof of purchase. It is important to know that Eno will not replace items purchased through eBay sellers or REI Garage Sale.
11. They are incredibly easy to hang up onto anything.
Trees, poles, posts, you name it! If it looks like you can wrap a strap around it, you’re set! The straps have great grip on anything, so no worries if the surface is smooth. If you plan on wrapping your straps around a tree, make sure the tree isn't dead. Long story short, I once broke a dry rotted tree in half while I was enoing. All was traumatic, however all was OK. Don't be me, make wise decisions on where you plan on hanging your Eno.
12. Naps, naps, and more naps.
Let’s face it, some days can be so exhausting! Nothing is wrong with a good nap when you have some good time to put to use. Take advantage of your super comfy Eno and use up some of that time to rest. I have slept in Enos overnight before, so don’t limit yourself if you think you need a little bit more than just a nap.
