Enjoy the Precious Present

Time can go by fast. One day we are a little kid and our hardest decision is choosing what color crayon to use for the princess's hair in our favorite coloring book. Then one day we are headed off to college heading into adulthood wishing we were still a little kid. Most of us couldn't wait to grow up. I know I said that time and time again, I don't know what I was thinking. Being a little kid was hell of a lot easier. But that is life you have to grow up, there is no way of escaping that. So no matter your age you should live each and every day to it fullest. Live in the moment, do not worry about yesterday because that already happened, don't think about tomorrow because it is not here yet. Just live in the present and enjoy what you have going on around you.

I defiantly have regrets. Things I wish I had done, chances I wish I had taken. If I had the chance to do things over maybe I would, but in reality I can only learn from those things and tell myself to take more chances in the future. When I lived in Upstate New York, there was a lot I did not do. I never went to the Amusement Parks, I only had the famous garbage plate a few times, I never went to a lot of school events or dances. I wish I had done those things. I lived there for five years and that is plenty of time for those things I just never did them. My advice to everyone is to not let that happen to you. Do not just sit around because one day things could very well change and you will have passes up the opportunity of something that could be really fun.

My Sociology teacher in eleventh grade had this saying "Enjoy the Precious Present" (EPP). That was probably one of the most valuable things he had ever taught me, and I learned a lot in his class. You have to stop and smell the roses. You have to enjoy what you have in the moment in time because everything can change in the blink of an eye. One day you could be the happiest person on earth and the next day it can feel like your world is crumbling down around you and you are trapped. So have a little fun a lot of fun! Make sure you smile everyday! Spread love and happiness to those around you and just enjoy the precious present.

You don't want to live with regrets your whole life. You want to take some chances, you should have fun when you can because once you get to the adult world that can all change. Do not wait around for anything or anyone. If you want to travel some where, get off you butt and travel there. If you like someone, tell them! Do not wait around for them to come to you. If you want to try something new try something new because new opportunities don't come to you every day.

Live in the moment. Take some chances. Enjoy the Precious Present"

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
