In the South, spring comes shockingly early. By mid-February, temperatures rise into the 60's and 70's, flowers start to bloom, and spending time outside becomes irresistible. Unfortunately, for most, this time also marks the start of one of the worst weeks of the semester - midterms. While it may seem that you have to make a choice between taking advantage of the beautiful weather and studying for all of those tests, you can do it all! Here are a few ways to enjoy the spring weather during midterms:
1. Read in your eno.
While it is definitely a challenge to write a paper or work on math problems outdoors, reading outside is both relaxing and productive. Find a quiet spot, hang your eno, and get that reading done!
2. Go on walks when you need a break.
Rather than heading down to Starbucks and congregating with your friends, take a few laps around the quad when you need a change of scenery. No one can sit in the library all day, so take those much-needed breaks in the fresh air!
3. Eat outside.
Working outside can get distracting, but everyone needs to eat! Take your lunch to go and spend that time re-energizing outside.
4. Get exercise.
Although most college students head to the gym when they need to burn a few extra calories, midterms is the perfect time to swap the gym for the outdoors. Go on a run around campus and clear your head before the stress of midterms piles up.
