There are English Majors all over this country, at every school, in every library, behind all kinds of books, but no one has a bond like the EIU English Majors. If you relate to these at all you just might be part of the EIU English department.

1. You leave textbook rental either super buff or with broken arms

2. You practically live in Coleman

3. Matter of fact you pretty much live in room 3170

4.Up at 3 am? You're probably writing one of your six papers due tomorrow

5.You've already read a lot of the novels you're assigned in class but you're not mad since reading is everything

6.Paper's are easy peasy and maybe even fun! But getting a test? Thats horrifying

7.Finding a bathroom that's open and working in Coleman is one of the reasons you're late to class

8.The other reason is you got distracted by the free books around every corner

9.You've mastered the maze that is Coleman (even though its just a square and it shouldn't be as difficult as it is)

10. You're always busy reading and writing and totally stressed but you wouldn't change your major for the world

Not only did you decide to go to an amazing University, but you chose to follow your passion of literature, writing, grammar, teaching or any other passion that lead you to join the English Department! When you're not reading or writing papers, you're in the library checking out books for fun or school, writing stories, poems, plays and anything your heart desires or just living your life in the beautiful English Major way. You made a good decision my friend.
