"What you put out into the world, is exactly what you will get from the world."

I know, you've heard it a million times and it still sounds just as cliche and false as the first time. How can this be true, you're thinkning. I mean, I'm a good person; I call my mother everyday, I pay for people's orders all the time, I don't talk about people behind their back, and yet, the world hasn't been in my favor lately. It is semi-true that we have zero control over some of the little mishaps that happen to us, but a lot of the time, it is simply just how we feel and react to each thing.

When you meet someone new, you typically can tell right off the bat if you like them or not, based on the energy they give off. And usually, if it is a positive energy, it will be contagious and you'll want to be around them a lot more. This is the same with attracting what we want out of life. Often times, we focus on what we don't want or who we want to avoid becoming. Rather than using that negative energy and language, we should focus on what we actually do want, and who we really want to be. For example, for those who want to stop smoking, they tend to say things like "I don't want to smoke anymore." Instead, they should say "I will be smoke-free." Do you notice the difference in those statements? One is simply wanting something, while the other is demanding an action out of that want. Our feelings emit energy; when we want something, we have to accept it as it is and really feel that we will have it. Like if you want to move to a new city in 6 months, and currently are more broke than you've ever been, you have to tell yourself that no matter what, you are moving to that new, exciting city. You have to picture yourself walking through the parks, grabbing an early morning coffee down the street, working at the high-end fashion magazine office that was hiring the exact week you moved in. You have to picture what you want out of life, think that it's yours, think that you have it already, and you will be destined to live it. You know why? Because you're putting out the energy that you have control of your life. You're putting out the frequency that you are happy, determined, mindful of the world you're living in. And the world will notice. And it will definitely return the favor.

I once read this book, and all the author really said, throughout the whole 26-chapter novel, was that you need to get off your ass and do something. She included a lot of quotes about energy, and about peoples frequency they put off, and how the world really is in our favor we just are against ourselves, and it really stuck with me. One quote that I feel the need to heavily share with you all is this:

"Your faith in The Universe" must be stronger than your fear of not getting what you want."

Read it again. And again. Is this all starting to make sense yet? Our life is one big cluster of wishing for what we want, working harder to get it, and putting out copious amounts of postive vibes to those around us and the world.

When you wake up each morning, happy to be awake, ready to be alive, and excited to live your day, the world will respond to you in the same manner. You start to hear your favorite songs in a different way than before, your friends' smiles will shine brighter than the stars, and everything you want will come to you. Trust me, this happens to me every day. I wake up and tell myself that today is a new day, today is a great day and I let it be just that.

Sure, there are bad moments that you have every once in a while. Some big, some small. But if you react the same way to each situation, with a high spirit, a forgiving heart, and a determined mindset to get over this little bump, things will pan out. You have to be positive, not just think you are, and a positive life you will lead.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
