With the weather finally getting warm in Oxford, Ohio and the finals season creeping up on us, I am so sad to face the fact that I have to move out soon. Being at school means being surrounded by friends constantly, going on random adventures uptown and laying in the quad soaking up the sun. Although I am ready for the semester to be over, I am so sad to have to say goodbye to my amazing friends for the next three months.

There are so many things I will miss from my sophomore year: being doors away from all of my best friends, late night runs to MacCracken Market and all of our other adventures that have truly made this year so special. Although I am so excited for everything the next two years on campus have in store for me, I do not want this year to be over. I have made so many memories and friendships that I will keep with me forever, and maybe that is why it is so hard to say goodbye.

All of the incredible people I have met this year have absolutely made this year one for the books. They are all always there for me whether we are going to Spring Street Treats, ranting about classes or sitting in silence on our phones in each other’s presence. I know that next year will not be the same, which is why it is hard to say goodbye. Who would have thought I would ever be sad to leave my twin size bed and communal showers in the dorm?! I guess it shows how much I love this campus and the people.

I know the separation of summer will make coming back to campus in the fall so much more exciting. Thankfully, we have the world at our fingertips and can FaceTime every day...I truly do not know what I would do without that. So apologies in advance for all of the late-night phone calls and 500 texts my friends are going to receive from me every day this summer. I can't help it!

I am already counting down the days until we move in next year and make countless more memories! Let's see where next year's journey takes us!

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.
