If you are in my position right now, you will be returning to school within the next few weeks. Summer break is great. You get a whole three months at home with the people you love and all the things that you love. The beginning of August hits you like a brick. Wow. You feel like you had just moved all your stuff back into your home, and are now preparing to relocate again. Items for your dorm, apartment or house are scattered throughout the house and pile high for everyone to see. You have the bedding, the kitchen appliances, the heavy winter coats we all couldn't live without. Everything is about to make its way back to your University. In just a few short weeks, you will say goodbye to your family and friends, your favorite home cooked meals, and the luxury of sleeping in your own bed. Although the thought of leaving home again and moving away makes you sad, you realize that you will be home for Thanksgiving in no time.
As a rising sophomore, the summer after your freshman year is crucial. You realized what worked and what didn't. You also realized how much money you were going through. The summer helps prepare for the upcoming year. When going out to buy supplies and accessories, you know which ones were a waste and which ones worked perfectly. That summer job that you might not be a huge fan of, will come in handy when you wanna grab a bite with friends, or buy a new outfit for yourself. Everything has fallen into place.
So take in the next few weeks! Summer is almost over and there is still so much to be done! Get a mani/pedi, take tons of pictures to hang in your room, maybe even treat your family to dinner! Do what makes you happy! After all, it will soon be time to crack out the books and pencils. Don't worry! You got time!!
