5 Things To Do Before Summer Ends

There's only two weeks left before school starts. Where did the summer go? Well, I certainly spent this summer working a lot and doing some travel. Now with two weeks to go, I am trying to have an actual summer. This past week I went home and saw family and got a chance to relax. With two weeks to go, there are five things that I want to try and get done before school starts.

1. I want to finish the HBO show Game of Thrones.

This show right now has been all I watch on TV. Saturday was just spent watching one entire season. Currently, I am on season four, episode eight but I plan to be fully caught up on season seven by the end of this upcoming week.

2. I want to go into the city and explore.

When I say "the city", I am referring to San Francisco. I lived in the Bay Area for about seven weeks this summer but didn't really have an opportunity to actually explore. I want to go back and spend a weekend walking around town and exploring. I want to see what San Francisco has to offer. I also want to get a sense for the night life in the city.

3. I want to just catch up with friends.

Now that people are starting to come back to Stockton for training or to help out for orientation, I want to catch up. It's been months since I have seen some of my friends. One of the ways that I was thinking about catching up with them was by hosting a BBQ. This way they can relax and talk and end summer on a good note.

4. I need to clean my room.

This one is a must do. I have the habit of just leaving my clean clothes in the closet and not hanging them or putting them back where they belong. Currently, my closet is a mess. I need to get ready for the school year by starting off on the right foot; that is, by getting organized.

5. I want to party.

This last thing that I want to do before summer is over is to go out and party. I haven't been out to a party for a few months. I think the last time was in April, but with the start of school, I want to party at least once before I devote 90% of my time to work and school work. That has been a rule of mine since I started college. I only allow myself to have a bit more fun than normal before and after the school semester. I try to go out and keep the partying to a minimum during the school year.

I can't wait for the start of my senior year. It feels like just yesterday when I was about to start my freshman year of college. Time certainly does fly by. But I do intend to spend the next weeks living life to its fullest and enjoying every minute of what's left of summer.

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.
