End of Semester Stress: As Told By "The Real Housewives"

End of Semester Stress: As Told By "The Real Housewives"

It's that time of the semester when everyone is binge drinking caffeinated beverages and sleeping on the floor in the library. As a college student myself, I understand the trouble. While "The Real Housewives" have troubles very different to ours (like who has a better house, or who has a more expensive car) some of the things they say are totally relateable to any situation. Here is the end of the semester, as told by "The Real Housewives."

When you realize you have to take five finals in three days.

Sometimes the schedules for finals week is not ideal. It can be difficult to study material for all of those classes in a short amount of time. It is also easy for our minds to get the material confused with other material.

Tip: Make a list.

Making a list can help you organize your thoughts. Plan out when you are going to study for specific finals, and stick to that list.

Thinking about all of the material that needs to be reviewed can be really overwhelming.

When you finally decide to be productive and study in the library, but people won't stop talking.

We've all been there.

Or when you are studying with classmates and everyone is confusing you.

It's okay to study with classmates to help you memorize information better. But make sure all of your classmates are on the same page. Sometimes when people don't really know what is going to be on the final, it is confusing to study with them.

Then you have those times when you are so sick of studying.

Tip: Make time for yourself.

Even among the hectic studying schedule, take some time away for yourself. It is important to take your mind away from the material being studied. Go for a walk, take a nap, or watch some television. Give your brain a break and then get back to studying with a fresh mind.

Or when you've had mental breakdown number twenty of the week and can't take all of the emotions anymore.

Tip: Exercise

It might sound crazy thinking of exercising instead of studying, but it is beneficial. Studies show that exercising for 20 minutes a day can improve cognitive thinking, memorization, and give you a burst of energy. And those happen to be the main things you need while memorizing everything you learned the past semester.

And sometimes the material doesn't come easy to you, and you have to work extra hard studying for that particular final.

And if you still don't understand the material, you can always quit school and become a stripper (sorry mom, but they honestly make more money a year than I probably ever will with my major).

And sometimes the only thing getting us through finals week is thinking about what lies ahead of us.

So good luck and enjoy the advice that works for me. You will make it out alive and once you do, your summer should start with nice big drink of your choice.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
