For me and many other students (primarily if you attend a Southern school), this year at college is coming to an end. With the conclusion of a semester comes some familiar feelings, good and bad. Classes are finally wrapping up and summer vacation is on the horizon, but that also means finals are closely approaching, along with final grades being submitted.
It's around this time that you start to analyze your year, thinking about all the opportunities you were and weren't able to take advantage of. In reflecting on and finishing up your year, it's likely you're doing the following:
1. Getting ready to roast that unfair professor on course evaluations.
Should we say...petty spaghetti? That professor definitely shouldn't have done you wrong.2. Madly calculating what you need to maintain an A
"Okay, so just how badly can I do on this last exam to maintain a good grade in this class?"
3. You didn't take advantage of any college facilities
Gyms, clubs, and leisure classes-oh my! You're now realizing how much you didn't take advantage of any of these college benefits. I guess there's always...next year?
4. Feeling like you missed out on some social opportunities
You're noticing that some of the people in your classes are actually pretty cool, but you've missed an opportunity to cultivate friendships with them.
5. Everything that has ever been assigned is now due ALL AT ONCE...
At least for me, my course load has been pretty manageable this semester, yet now it seems like professors are piling everything on in the remaining few weeks.
6. ...leading you to become the most exhausted you've been all year
Getting eight hours of sleep? Huh, I've never heard of it.
7. And don't even get me started on finals approaching
Think happy thoughts. Think happy thoughts. Think happy thoughts.
With luck, we will all hopefully get through these remaining weeks with our mental health and grades fully intact. Reflect on your year, but try to use this reflection to set up positive goals to make your next year even better.
