http://tinyletter.com/annfriedman/letters/work-har...1. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
This verse seems to be planted in a lot of people’s minds. We know it. We recite it. Most probably have it calligraphed on a piece of wood somewhere in their dorm room or apartment. But do we really believe it is true? We allow ourselves to get stressed out over our future, and sometimes even wonder why we are here. Fortunately, the Lord really does KNOW the plans He has for us. And thankfully, those plans aren’t to harm us, but to give us HOPE and a FUTURE.
2. “And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear or be dismayed.”
Deuteronomy 31:8
The Lord is walking with you in this life. He wants you to trust and follow Him. He isn’t going to leave you alone on this journey. Don’t let the nasty lies of this world persuade you to run and be afraid. Trust in the Lord to lead you and protect you. Be bold in your pursuit.
3. “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
Mathew 6:26
Lets face it, everyone is running low on Tiger Card money and it is almost the dreaded week you will need that money the most (finals week). But the Lord promises to provide, and thankfully, He isn’t just talking about food or shelter. He promises to provide in every way He see’s fit for us- the food, the shelter, the money, the joy, the trials, and everything in between. How beautiful is that. Look at the birds on your walk to class; watch them, maybe you could even hum along (or not) to their bird-songs. Let them be a reminder to you that the Lord will take care of you and provide for you. If they can sing and be happy, you can too.
4. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, and not for men.
Colossians 3:23
Everything you do, do it for the Lord. Run the race with endurance and finish it strong. It is so easy to be lazy and not give 110%, especially so close to the end of the semester. But the Lord commands us to work at EVERYTHING we do with ALL of our hearts, not for our parents, not for our professors, and not even for ourselves, but for Him- He deserves it. Keep up the fight, you are almost there.
