Here are seven lovely quotes to encourage you — one for every day of the week!

1. Joel 2:12 says, "It isn't too late. You can still return to Me with all your heart."

I don't know about you, but I need as many reminders of God's good and perfect grace as I can find.

2. Elle Luna says, "I love the idea that everyone has a gift to give. And I believe that the world is waiting for us to give it to them."

Something I've pondered a lot since becoming a college student, working to earn a degree so that I can have a practical job when I graduate college is that following your passion is important. It is so so so important. And not only is important to have passions, becoming passionate about the gifts God has blessed you with is tremendously key. This quote is a beautiful reminder that our passions and our gifts matter.

3. Coco Chanel once said, "Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself."

Isn't that a marvelous thought? There is nothing more radical or more purely beautiful than deciding to be yourself, deciding to be the person God created you and called you to be.

4. Greek-speaking philosopher Epictetus has this great quote: "No great thing is created suddenly."

I love this quote because it reminds me that all my hard work, and all the trouble I go through and all pain- will one day add up to something great. And it'll all be worth it.

5. Stephen King once said, "When all else fails, give up and go to the library."

I don't know about you, but that sounds pretty good to me.

6. Zooey Deschanel once said, "Being tender and open is beautiful. As a woman, I feel continually shhh'ed. Too sensitive. Too mushy. Too wishy washy. Blah blah. Don't let someone steal your tenderness. Don't allow the coldness and fear of others to tarnish your perfectly vulnerable beating heart. Nothing is more powerful than allowing yourself to be truly affected by things."

Elegant funny-girl Zooey Deschanel is one of my favorite actresses of all time and for good reason. This quote is a really lovely reminder that being soft and having a big heart is an okay thing.

7. John Mayer sings, "Even if your hands are shaking, and your faith is broken. Even as the eyes are closing, do it with a heart wide open."

John Mayer, one of my absolute favorite musicians, has a great song called "Say What You Need To Say" with these encouraging lyrics. I love this song and the lyrics it contains because sometimes we're broken, and hurt, and messy. But our hearts are heavy and filled with things we need to share. These lyrics are a wonderful encouragement to share the contents of our hearts.

I truly hope these words spoke some encouragement into your life. Praying happiness and encouragement into the lives of God's people this week. Share this article with those close to you to spread some positive vibes!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
