Twists, turns, steps backwards, uncalled-for breakdowns and unrelenting stress: this is also known as life. We all experience moments in life that make us regret decisions or feel like utter crap. We all rely on friends or family to pick us up and keep us moving forward. That's what best friends are for, right? Although friends are supposed to be our go-tos, our unofficial family, our pick-me-ups, and our "people", there are times when they are unable to help. Whenever I'm in a crunch for support, I turn to these quotes, and you should too.

1. Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.

If you're ever really down on yourself, Dr. Seuss quotes are the perfect place to start for motivation.

2. Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it.

Rather than focus on the actual problem at hand, focus on what you take from it. Allow yourself to take the anger, frustration, stress, or disappointment and learn from it.

3. Love the life you live, live the life you love.

If you don't like where you're headed, the first thing you have to do is become aware. Next, make the choice to change directions. Change may be scary, but it's often the breath of fresh air we're desperate for.

4. A journey of a thousand miles begins with one single step.

When you feel like you're stuck in place and have nowhere to go, or when you feel like there is nothing left for you to do, try breaking down the issue into parts and accomplish each at your own pace.

5. Mistakes are proof that you are trying.

Sometimes when you give it all you've got, your effort won't be enough for success. But that doesn't mean you are a failure; it simply means that the next time you try, you'll be better prepared. Take everything you can from your mistakes, be it anger, disappointment, or frustration, and use it as motivation for the future.

6. Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.

This quote is what I live by. No matter the situation, it always works out somehow. Have a little faith, keep your head up, and push forward. You'll see that it will all work in no time.

7. Hope for the best but expect the worst.

8. Don't give up what you want most for what you want now.

The most important thing in reaching your goals is the journey there. No matter how difficult, reaching it is always going to be worth it. Try not to let immediate temptations or challenges act as a road block.

9. Don't let your happiness depend on something you may lose.

If you rely on a thing or a person for happiness, you are only setting yourself up for disappointment. It's incredibly dangerous to pour your happiness into someone or something because it can be so easily discarded.

10. Be sure to taste your own words before you spit them out.

Aside from managing your own troubles, it is important that we are there for other people too and help them manage their own. Be sure not to make things worse though, as words are forgiven, not forgotten.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.
