We've all been there. You look in the mirror, and your unruly locks catch your eye. It's messy, and not the "hot 'n' sexy" messy, but the "I-rolled-out-of-bed-30-seconds-ago" messy. The color has faded, the shine has dulled, and there are split ends everywhere. You can't get the back to lay down the way it's supposed to anymore, and the right side does this weird, flippy thing that gives you an instant throwback to elementary school when you asked Mom to curl your hair. You know what's coming: it's time for a haircut.
The 8 Phases of Getting A Haircut
1. Excitement
Haircuts are good, right? It's like the start of a whole new you.
2. Apprehension
But you love your hair. After all, you grew it long for a reason.
3. Fear
YOU'VE MADE A HORRIBLE MISTAKE. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
4. Panic
THIS IS HOW THE WORLD ENDS. YOU'LL DIE OF EMBARRASSMENT AND SADNESS.
5. Denial
I'm not getting my hair cut. I'm not getting my hair cut. I'm not getting my hair cut.
6. Mourning
I will never be happy again.
7. Acceptance
Maybe I look okay. Maybe.
8. Confidence
LOOK OUT WORLD. MY HAIR IS FABULOUS.
